Story
The Sevton Saga (formerly called Yellow Morning, Blue Afternoon) is a work-in-progress children's novel series begun in Christmas 2005 by DCJC of Waterbury, CT (formerly from Dominica and the Bronx). The series' primary setting is Rogatia, an imaginary Caribbean island nation. Two sample opening chapters of the first adventure, Lucky Guess, surfaced online in late November 2011.
In Lucky Guess, a ten-year-old wastrel named Diane hears of something called "LDC" from her cater-cousin, Roberta. The object has been sighted for the first time in nearly 40 years, and is kept under close watch by a team of Somali renegades. Diane hardly knows it, but "LDC" actually comprises part of a treasure she and a penpal of hers have long yearned to get their hands on. She'll do anything to get it back--even earn a front-page story--as long as the usual homework and chores don't interfere.
Only one problem: thanks to her low grades, she has never ventured outside her home parish of St. George in Shropshire Province.
The first Sesta of Lucky Guess is now available at Amazon's Kindle Store through the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. New installments will be posted every five to seven weeks thereafter.
